Health & Safety Policy

I conduct regular health and safety checks both on my premises and on location. The Office and Studio are fitted with fire detection units.

I also conduct regular risk assessments to identify trip hazards and other potential dangers within the studio. I have recently mounted 3 lights on the ceiling and installed side curtains in the studio to eliminate all wires from the studio floor. The only minor trip hazards are the lighting stands for the main and fill flash units. I would rate the studio now as low risk but constantly review this on a regular basis. There are currently 2 exits from the studio, the main door is a fire door which is kept shut during shoots and the other is an emergency exit and also offers access for disabled people.

Fire extinguishers and exit signs are clearly visible in the studio and the evacuation route is discussed with each client.

Basic first aid is kept in the studio and in the office.

I try to keep a good standard of safety on location shoots and do basic risk assessment on all locations and events.

I hold Professional Indemnity insurance and a £5,000,000 public liability policy that covers both studio and location shoots.
